Soutsavath "Suzy" Aryavong

Born in Vientiane, Laos on March 6, 1968, she passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at the age of 56.

She was the most caring and selfless person we’ve ever known. She nurtured everyone around her, always put family first, always showed up, always gave more than she had to.

Her five children were the centre of her world, but her love extended far beyond us. Friends, neighbours, and anyone who needed a home cooked meal or gentle presence, she was there.

She was the warmth in every room, the quiet strength in every hard moment, and our reason behind countless family-style dinners where love was served with every dish.

We carry her with us in memory, spirit, and every jar of Mummy Sauce.

We love you, Mommy. We miss you every day. This is for you.

A Tribute & Homage To Our Mom

It was never "pass the chilli oil" or "hot sauce". It was always Mummy Sauce, because our Mommy made it. That’s what we've always called it growing up. This project is an homage to our mother. Mummy Sauce is her recipe of love, Laos, and spice, all in one jar. It’s what sat at the centre of our dinner table growing up, and now, it’s what continues to bring our family, extended family and friends together, again and again.

To our mom, to her story, and to the love and legacy she poured into every batch (and everything she did).

A birthday surprise! This was the moment we told her "we're taking your sauce online, Mom!"
